Covid-19 & level 5 lockdown

As announced this evening we are heading into another level 5 lockdown. Unfortunately, cases are rising across the country. It’s important to remain calm and focus on keeping yourself and your family safe.

The Practice will remain open, as we have done the entire year with strict guidelines in place. Initially, you will be offered a phone consultation with a GP and it will be the GP who will decide if you need to be seen face to face.

We remain open for childhood vaccinations and antenatal care at all times.

Under no circumstances are you to attend the surgery if you are unwell, stay at home and phone the surgery first.
We are here for you as always and don’t want any of you to feel you can’t contact us, you can. Prescriptions, certs etc will continue to be sent electronically.

Things will run a little differently for a while, but please know, we are here.

Phone lines are exceptionally busy in every practice at the moment, please be patient and kind to staff. We will get to you.

Limit your contacts and stay at home as much as possible. If you need to go out, please wear a mask at all times and continue to wash your hands and sanitise.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATIOM:

Any COVID symptom; sudden onset of at least one of the following: cough, fever, shortness of breath, or a reduction/loss of sense of smell or taste needs to contact their GP/SouthDoc for a COVID test.

While awaiting a test you self isolate until you have a Virus Not Detected test result and are SYMPTOM-FREE for 48 hours. Everyone in your home comes home now and stays home until you have a Virus Not Detected test result and are SYMPTOM-FREE for 48 hours. (Simply put; you stay in your room, they stay in the house)

If you have a positive test then Public Health will contact you about Contact Tracing. You must self isolate for a minimum of 10 days from the onset of symptoms, the last 5 days of which should be without fever.

If you are a close contact you need to restrict your movements for 14 days. Test results DO NOT CHANGE this period of restricted movement. You are being tested to see if you have contracted COVID
