Childhood Immunisations

Children and young people with a valid PPS number are entitled to certain immunisations free of charge. These are provided in our surgery, in your local health clinic or in school.

All immunisations are administered by our practice nurse per our protocol. All vaccines are checked by the doctor as well as the health of the child on the day of the vaccine.

Immunisation is a safe and effective way to help the body prevent or fight off certain diseases.

Parents must consent to vaccinations for children and young people up to the age of 16. Vaccination is not compulsory, but is strongly advised by the Department of Health. You should discuss any concerns you may have with  us before making a decision about your child’s immunisation.
